THE DANCE - Part 2

"The way that we move through space is really interesting to me, and I am conscious of the fact that we are moving and dancing, in our way, all day long." - Maira Kalman in conversation with Krista Tippett on "On Being”

We are in THE DANCE all the time.

I must remind myself of this.

How do I engage with world?
How do I wake up into how I move through it?
How do I see everything
As a dance?
as

THE DANCE?

I am thinking about safety and danger.

About tension.

the push/pull
of the dance
how I inhabit everything
from
mundane movement
to
deliberate choreography
to
the divine abandon of
Ecstasy.

Because I already have moments when
I know this to be true,
when
I feel the world dancing
around
and
through
me
and those are
really.
awesome.
moments.

Maybe it’s remembering
that I am
always in flow
as a default
and
it’s just peeling away
the things I’ve put on top
to hide it.
Instead of needing
to do more
to get to
IT

IT - [third person singular] Exactly what is needed or desired.

(What if I am “IT”?)
(what if there is nothing to “do”?)

Maybe it’s just
stopping
to listen
for the music
that’s already here
and
moving
WITH IT
however feels right
in this moment
and
allowing

IT

to
change.
